An Invitation to Join #ChangeTheNow
In 2018 Georgian College, Canada’s first Ashoka Changemaker College, wanted to know if they could mobilize students from kindergarten to Post Secondary into a movement, effectively building a region of Changemakers. It was from here that #ChangeTheNow began.
Do good to do well
#ChangeTheNow was created on the beliefs that small acts can lead to big change and collaborations can turn into largescale movements. We believe together students’, educators’ and communities’ ideas can spark systems shifts that make will make our communities greener, healthier, safer, stronger and more inclusive!
Will you join us in creating the positive change and contribute to 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals?

🤔 Reflection question
How might the prototype & test stage help you with overcoming a fear of failure or challenging your assumptions about what is ‘right’?
Lisa Marie's Answer
Going through the prototype and test stage, I was able to realize that failing isn't the end of our plan. This stage helped me overcome a little of my fear of failure as we were able to comprehend the value of challenges and acknowledge that with every failure, there is improved learning and value-adding knowledge to the project. For the most part, I learned that prototyping isn't about getting the right design, but rather it's the step to see the inconsistencies in the design, to receive objective feedback, and to create a better understanding of what to improve for a more effective and comprehensive plan.

🤔 Reflection question
After learning about how to empathize with the people affected by your SDG’s social issue, how you might apply empathy to working with the members on your CTN Innovation Team?
Roshan's Answer
I came to understand EMPATHY as a skill and a tool to build a relationship with either team members or your audiences. Learning how to empathize with people has helped me to collaborate and share ideas and opinions with my team members. It has changed my thinking sight of how one should co-operate in a team and what his/her importance is. When empathizing with someone, you understand their pains & gains, and how they have been analyzing your behavior.

🤔 Reflection question
How might ideation help you develop your active listening skills to brainstorm and reflect on ideas effectively with your team?
Kevin's Answer
Ideation can improve my active listening skills by encouraging me to fully engage with my team's ideas and perspectives. By actively listening to their thoughts, I can understand their viewpoints better and build upon them during brainstorming sessions. It allows me to reflect on the ideas shared, leading to more thoughtful contributions and effective problem-solving. Embracing ideation fosters a collaborative environment where everyone's input is valued, leading to better team dynamics and innovative solutions.
