An Invitation to Join #ChangeTheNow
In 2018 Georgian College, Canada’s first Ashoka Changemaker College, wanted to know if they could mobilize students from kindergarten to Post Secondary into a movement, effectively building a region of Changemakers. It was from here that #ChangeTheNow began.
Do good to do well
#ChangeTheNow was created on the beliefs that small acts can lead to big change and collaborations can turn into largescale movements. We believe together students’, educators’ and communities’ ideas can spark systems shifts that make will make our communities greener, healthier, safer, stronger and more inclusive!
Will you join us in creating the positive change and contribute to 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals?

🤔 Reflection question
How might you explain the value of you having a systems-thinking mindset when attempting to define and understand a complex problem?
Anita's Answer
Systems Thinking is a kind of critical thinking that encourages a more open-minded approach. This enables us to empathise with others more readily and humbly learn from our own errors. This continual consideration allows us to concentrate on relevant, meaningful change.

🤔 Reflection question
How might ideation help you develop your active listening skills to brainstorm and reflect on ideas effectively with your team?
Anita's Answer
Ideation is a design process that aids in the formation of ideas through attention, drawing, and brainstorming. Finding simple answers enables the team to work efficiently on them as a whole. At the same time an individual will benefit from this process since it will make it easier for them to express their ideas and share them with others.

🤔 Reflection question
After completing CTN, what new awareness do you have for yourself (ME) and your community (WE) and what is one action you might take to continue to explore it?
Anita's Answer
Following the completion of the CTN, I learned that there are appropriate instruments available for more effective SDG implementation and monitoring. We will build a strong community by raising awareness with the use of these tools and information, and we will serve a crucial role in society through various UN SDG actions. My aim is to reduce food waste first in my own home before tackling society as a whole. Because we knowingly or unknowingly waste food, causing methane and other climatic changes that affect Mother Earth, so this would be my first action.
