🤔 Reflection question
After completing CTN, what new awareness do you have for yourself (ME) and your community (WE) and what is one action you might take to continue to explore it?
Andrea's Answer
After completing the CTN, my biggest awareness and takeaway is how important and rewarding working on a team can be. I enjoyed hearing all the brilliant ideas and watching one member share an idea and then another member add to it and watching the idea take shape and grow into a much bigger, better idea all because we trusted each other enough to share our thoughts and ideas. I am going to continue to explore change-making, advocacy, and social innovation. It has sparked a fire in me that I never thought possible. Thank you #CTN for this amazing opportunity and for my amazing team. You are all legends.

🤔 Reflection question
What did you learn about publicly sharing your ideas that you will carry with you in your future of work?
Andrea's Answer
When you are in a team environment sharing can be scary especially if you are a newly developed team and just getting to know one another. Once the team has established a bond and trust is established, the space becomes a safe space for all to share and the team becomes more comfortable and confident in sharing their ideas. Clear, kind, respectful communication is key to sharing your ideas.

🤔 Reflection question
How might the prototype & test stage help you with overcoming a fear of failure or challenging your assumptions about what is ‘right’?
Andrea's Answer
The prototype phase allows you to create a test version of your idea. During the testing phase, you can test out your idea with little investment and if adjustments need to be made, you can pivot or adjust your idea with little fear of failure. We can make many assumptions about an idea or outcome; it is the testing phase that either validates our assumptions or requires us to make changes. We experience fear in all aspects of our lives. A person or team that is passionate about their idea or project will feel the fear, make mistakes, and embrace them as a learning opportunity and continue on to achieve the best version of their idea or project despite the fear.

🤔 Reflection question
How might ideation help you develop your active listening skills to brainstorm and reflect on ideas effectively with your team?
Andrea's Answer
Beautiful trouble allowed us to engage differently with our stakeholders. During our group activity, active listening was evident based on the scaffolding of ideas and the direction our conversations were taking us. When we are actively listening and allowing space for our team members to feel comfortable and safe to share their ideas, great ideas are generated from that brainstorming session. Being present is very much key to active listening, when I am present, I get to hear everyone’s ideas, and I get to see the excitement of light bulb moments happening. This stage also allowed me to learn more about my teammates and see their personalities, vulnerability, and willingness to share with the team. When we are engaged, present, and actively listening, the strength of your team is enhanced.

🤔 Reflection question
How might you explain the value of you having a systems-thinking mindset when attempting to define and understand a complex problem?
Andrea's Answer
When dealing with complex issues or any type of issue, the system-thinking mindset challenges you to dig deep and explore what is happening in the system for a much bigger picture of what is really happening.

🤔 Reflection question
After learning about how to empathize with the people affected by your SDG’s social issue, how you might apply empathy to working with the members on your CTN Innovation Team?
Andrea's Answer
When working in a team setting, empathy is a tool that allows you to listen to each other and support each other's ideas with an open mind and provide a judgment-free space for all members to share their ideas. When everyone feels comfortable to openly share and express ideas it makes for a great team dynamic.

🤔 Reflection question
After completing the Mobius Strip exercise, what do you feel are next steps towards contributing to the community you care about?
Andrea's Answer
Doing the Mobius strip activity made me think about how I want to participate and get involved in my community to advocate for change. Talking to members of the community that are affected by these issues deserves our attention and respect. Really listening and being able to connect and transform what you heard is the next step to a change-making solution.

🤔 Reflection question
What did you personally learn about the process of creating your team canvass?
Andrea's Answer
Going through this for a second round, the thing that stood out for me the most is being able to discuss how we see ourselves and how we see our teammates. Our roles, rules, and expectation are what will help to build a strong team. It is a great exercise to get to know each other and what each member brings to the team dynamic.
